It's Facebook time and you are SO excited about posting an exciting new product from your website! You type in your informative, yet fun, description, post the link and then wait for the thumbnail to generate (because you KNOW that Facebook's new algorithms like those thumbnail images more than a full-size image). You've done everything right and you can't wait to hit PUBLISH... and then the thumbnail appears with no image.
Seriously? Way to be a party-pooper, Facebook!
Don't worry! This common complaint is actually a REALLY easy fix! The reason your image is not pulling through is thanks to Facebook's coding technology - OpenGraph - that tells Facebook what to display in your thumbnail. Like all technology, it doesn't always work exactly the way we want it to! The solution became the Facebook "Debugger."
How to use Facebook "Debugger:"
- Visit Facebook Debugger here
- Paste the site URL from which you want to generate your thumbnail
- Click on "Debug"
The Facebook "Debugger" will show you a preview of what your thumbnail will look like when published and will provide you with a new URL. Use this new URL when posting to Facebook and your picture will magically appear! Abracadabra!
